I’m here to make plant-based eating simple and delicious for everyone. Carnivore, pescatarian veggie or vegan, whatever your dietary preferences are, I want to show you how easy, fun and delicious it is, and how incredible it makes you feel. It’s so much more than green salads and carrot sticks too. Filling our plates with natural wholefood ingredients bursting with wonderful colours, flavours and textures, which will nourish your body from the inside out. This is one of the best things we can do for our bodies and our overall health. We’re not talking out counting calories or portion sizes either, because eating should be an enjoyable experience, plus we need food to live so why would we ever deprive or restrict ourselves. That only leads to an unhealthy relationship with food. Instead we should have a positive one, in which food is celebrated, appreciated, brings family together, is part of our culture, a tradition and provides us with all the nutrients we need. Let’s focus on not what we take out of our diets, but all the exciting, weird and wonderful ingredients we put in. From these ingredients, we can create tasty flavoursome meals and discover amazing new recipes which will stay with us for life. These recipes needn’t time-consuming, expensive or complicated, just quick and simple, using a handful of inexpensive ingredients. You don’t even have to eat this way all the time, just having a few plant-based meals a week and some extra portions of fruit and veg is a great place to start as small, gradual changes makes it a lot less overwhelming and more sustainable in the long term. It certainly doesn’t have to be all or nothing. There is no perfect diet. We are all different, so make it work for you. I eat this way because I genuinely love it. It makes me feel amazing. I’ve never felt happier or healthier than I do today.
We all just drift through life, convinced that feeling tried, moody and generally crap is part of the ride. There are certain things that we can’t avoid, but it doesn’t have to be this way. By giving our bodies the best possible nutrition, we can start to believe that what we put in our mouths can impact our health in the most astonishing way and realise the potential it has to make us happier and healthier than ever before.
Its important to remember here that I am not a trained chef or nutritionist (I haven’t got a degree in anything and I’m not qualified to give you any dietary advice). I’m just a Dorset girl with a MASSIVE passion for food and healthy living. I really hope that by sharing my recipes and experiences, I can inspire you to make healthy choices, love your plants and maybe change those negative preconceptions around healthy eating. Essentially, its about loving what you eat, what makes you happy and feeling your very best because of it.
