Happy Monday to you all! Hope you had an amazing weekend! I spent yesterday at Christchurch’s annual food market festival. It’s a jam-packed weekend where the high street is filled with over 100 food stalls selling everything you could possibly want to eat. Burgers, squid, halloumi fries, cakes and bakes, cheeses, olives, fudge, chocolate, churros, spirits, free from bakes and vegan salads. As well as cookery demonstrations and live music. I’d thought I’d share some photos with you guys of some of my favourite stalls and everything we brought. It was also the first time taking Maisie and her first proper outing. She’ll be a lot bigger next year and we won’t have to carry the poor thing!
If you don’t know who Maisie is, she is the cutest cavapoo puppy on this earth (not biased at all) and the Ellie’s Recipes mascot. I will get her a turquoise harness one day!

We brought a slice of coffee cake and no one would ever guess it was gluten and dairy-free, the texture was incredible! I’ve put a link here if you want to check out her website!
I discovered Pana Chocolate at the festival last year and completely fell in love. It’ organic, raw, vegan and refined sugar-free. They use cacao butter which makes it so creamy and melty, it just dissolves on your tongue! Seriously, some of the best vegan chocolate I’ve tasted! Of course I just had to buy some. I think my all time fave is sour cherry and vanilla. SO YUM!
Another Christchurch food fest essential buy is oregano and olive oil from our Olive Oil Direct man. I am such an extra virgin olive oil nerd. If there is one thing I need in the kitchen it’s a blooming tasty olive oil. The proper stuff can taste incredible. I just love it simply with some balsamic glaze squirted in and dipping in fresh bread. Bliss
We also brought Greek spice mixes for fish and potatoes as well as a massive tub of mountain oregano.
AND a fat tub olives to stick with the Greek theme. We LOVE Greek food!
Meanwhile, I took a photo of an adorable Maisie sleeping in her bag (she actually loved being in it).

We did get stopped a million times so it’s a miracle we actually got to look round it in a day!
Another fantabulous discovery from last year was Kara’s Vegan Supper Club. I thought her salad mezze box was lush so I had to have it again this time! Completely forgot to take any photos so I’ve linked Kara’s insta photos below!
We brought 3 of these to have for dinner. Gluten-free and vegan ‘chorizo’ and mushroom sausage rolls. OMG!!!
Here is the mezze box! A mixture of three different salads: puy lentils, tomatoes, capers and dill, charred asparagus caesar salad and spring radish slaw with a mustard dressing. Served with gem lettuce leaves and sprinkled with toasted seeds! Yummy!
My mum brought a little vegan scotch egg from Hotch Potch. They sell savoury pies, all 100% gluten-free.
And that’s about it! Always such a great day, already looking forward to next year!
